Textured surface at junction of paths is slippery and dangerous

Reported anonymously at 17:39, Tue 31 December 2019

Sent to Warwickshire County Council 1 minute later

The tiles used to give the textured surface at the junction of Myton Road and the St Nicholas Park path are slippery when wet; Also they are becoming loose and uneven. They are at a point where paths meet and cylists and pedestrians paths converge so there is a need to be able to brake and corner safely. These tiles are supposed to be to assist the partially sighted but they make life dangerous for everyone else with their smooth ridged surface (apart from the ridges they are very smooth).

They are a poor choice of material, are not well located and they have not been well installed. The posts placed in the middle of the path do nothing to improve safety either - they are just an obstacle on a narrow path.

    Still open, via questionnaire

  • Well the loose tiles have been fixed. It remains a tricky junction with obstacles and a low friction surface at the junction of two footpaths / cycle paths together with reduced visibility.

    State changed to: Fixed
