Tree preservation order application

Reported anonymously at 14:25, Tue 31 December 2019

Sent to Canterbury City Council and Kent County Council 5 minutes later

We have noticed that someone has been cutting many of the trees down in the wooded area. There are beautiful Oak trees situated in a wooded area which is home to much wildlife including not just birds but squirrels and even bats. This area is especially peaceful and we would welcome a preservation order so that not all these trees get destroyed in a time where we need more trees not less and is enjoyed by local residents in the drive.

  • We had a reply saying some Ash trees had been cut back but these are NOT the OAKS we are reporting. Those trees line Trenley Drive and we are aware they needed cutting back however a developer visited the private land BEHIND West Wing and West Wing Trenley Hall and said he was going to cut down everything ready for building but we feel this is going to be detrimental to remove large Oak trees that have much wildlife nesting there.
