A very deep, wide pothole

Reported in the Pothole category anonymously at 23:28, Fri 13 December 2019 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 2 minutes later. Council ref: 1887645.

There are so many of them on this road that it's difficult to tell how long this particular pothole has been here but must've been quite long considering the size of it. It measures L150cm x W55cm x H14cm! I was driving in the evening and as the visibility was rather poor without any street lights I went straight over this pothole and it caused punctures and damaged the alloys beyond repair to both front and rear on the left hand side of my car which will cost me over £850... This was actually the second time it happened to me on this same road, last time it was on west bound and this time on east...I'm too scared to drive on this road again until all the potholes are fixed...

  • 18th December 2019 on way home from work (approximately 5.40pm) noticed a car stopped with hazards on at this location, talked to driver and was told that they ran into a deep pot hole and it blew the tyre and has possibly ruined the alloy wheels on the near side. Given that this stretch of road is narrow and unlit, this large pot hole is EXTREMELY dangerous. I should know about dangerous potholes as I was a serving county councillor for Oxfordshire for 8 years. Fix this pot hole as a matter of the utmost importance, there have been a number of fatalities on this road, we do not want any more.
