  • As of today (27th Jan) the broken piece of bridge decking board is still not repaired. Many other pieces of the decking feel soft and spongy and will probably need replacing soon. The original boards are only about 25mm thick and it will probably be best to replace the whole lot with 45mm boards as used on the footbridge from the towpath across the river to Glaxo's in Ware.

  • Only getting worse, surface is very slippery in the wet, the plastic 'temporary' covers exaggerate the slipperiness, the 'temporary' ply board covering is like walking n ice in the wet. over 40% of the treads are loose with several lifting causing trip hazards, wooden treads are rotten and broken.

  • Continues to deteriorate, loose fixings becoming a hazard to cross, made worse in wet weather with slippery surfaces.
