I would like to know when the extremely messy, mucky and potentially dangerous leaf fall on pavements and in gutters throughout The Gunnersbury Triangle Estate will be cleared. Leaf fall from the extensive number of trees on the estate has finished. However, in places the pavements are covered with leaves which are now mushy and extremely slippery due to recent continuous rainfall. Gutters are similarly blocked with thick mushy leaves. Apart from the mess attached to footwear and walked into homes, the situation is an accident waiting to happen. There are many elderly residents on the estate and it is difficult for them to negotiate the pavements - I have in fact seen many younger people opt to walk in the road as it is cleaner and safer. Last year I spoke with one older couple, one of whom had slipped and fallen due to similar conditions. Why does Hounslow Council not feel it necessary to have had at least one clean up of the area after 3 months of leaf fall? Grass cutters were working on the grass verges up to mid October!
