4 Street Lights are not working in the area Wilmsham Road, Hogarth Place and Prestone Road Abingdon. There is a footpath leads between houses from Wilsham Road to Hogarth Place between the first lamp in the footpath and the end two lights are out. Added to that the lamp directly opposite this footpath in Hogarth Place is also out. The lamp opposite Hogarth Place in Preston Road (left hand side when approaching from Wilsham Road up Preston Road, is also out. 4 Lights not working within 25 yards of each other leaves a very black hole & very unsafe for pedestrians as footpath damaged too. Its a very large unlit area and requires immediate attention as a very busy corner, Wilmsham Road/Hogarth Place/Preston Road with lots of pedestrians and vehicles.

Updates

  • Thank you for your report, to enable us to log the fault to the correct unit can you please advise using the attached map the street light number you are referring to. If the unit is not on the map this would not be owned/maintained by Oxfordshire County Council and would need to be reported to the developer/landowner direct. Unfortunately we do not keep records of private lights. Or if you have land marks that would be great, if they are located outside houses.

  • Ref:00363062 Thank you for your report, OCC are now responding to out of lights within the contracted timescales of attending site within 7 days for repairs. If there is a cable fault this will be passed to the Electricity company to repair and will take longer, it will depend on the resources which the District Service Operator has. Thank you
