Traffic light not working / dangerous crosswalk

Sent to TfL 2 minutes later

Good morning,

I'm living on Widmore road, mother of 4 children; 3 are going to Scotts park (the last one is a baby in a baby carrier) so I've been using the crosswalk on Widmore road, just next to Freelands road several times a day for 6 years now...

I'v always found this crosswalk very dangerous as many cars go very fast (as the road is straight) and don't stop even when the light has turned from orange to red. In addition, the pedestrians don't have much time to cross the road (only a couple a seconds) so we tend to cross the road as soon as the man has turned green but like I just said many cars prefer to carry on when they should stop...

Moreover, since a couple of weeks, the orange light doesn't work anymore so between red and green there is a gap with no light at all! So the cars arrive and as they don't see any light, they prefer to carry on instead of stopping for safety... On Monday 18th November I crossed the road 4 times and 3 times the cars carried on when I was crossing the road, the 4th last the car stopped just one meter far from me!

I'm really angry and scared as I have to risk my life (and my children's lives) everytime we go to school... And it's just terrifying to think that my daughter should use this crosswalk on her own when she is in secondary school in 2 years (like children already do everyday)...

So could you please: - come and fix the orange light asap before an accident happens - find a solution about this crosswalk (put big cameras or speed bump?) to finally make it safe...

Best regards
