There are eight cars for sale on the street and we as residents are struggling to park our own cars. My partner came to stay last weekend and literally had nowhere on the street to leave her car as they now take up the majority of both sides of the street.
We are being pretty much fobbed off by everyone saying technically as the cars are taxed etc it isn’t illegal etc. I’m sure it’s not legal to run a business like this on a residential street and park eight cars on a street you don’t even live on.
My neighbours have tried to speak to the owner of the cars and ask him to be reasonable but were told “I’ll do what I want”. I have no problem with people running a business or making money and there are other streets nearby where there is plenty of room and the cars would not be anybodies way but as I say they won’t even talk decently to people. They are outside now with people here to look At the cars. Three of them left running and my neighbour has just gone out with his children. A van with people looking at the cars has immediately pulled into his spot outside his house. Now when he returns he will have to park away from his house and run his small children down the street in the freezing cold.
We as residents are getting desperate for help now. Christmas is coming and there will be family coming to visit and nowhere to actually leave cars overnight outside the family they are visiting because our street is now practically an Arnold Clark showroom.
