Tree outside 339 Iffley Road OX4 4DP.

Sent to Oxford City Council and Oxfordshire County Council 3 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1847235.
Roots have damaged the telecommunications manhole causing it to flood with water which pours onto the pavement and is a definite hazard and a public safety issue. There are wet leaves and the whole pavement is lifted by the roots making it uneven. The pavement is used by many elderly people going to the supermarket as well as children in pushchairs etc. This has been reported previously at least since February 2017 and prior to that. The roots are damaging the front wall of 339 Iffley road as well as the friont drives in 339 and 341 Iffley road and the boundary wall between the two houses. The BT Engineer was called out on 7th November 2019 and also noted how people had to walk around the hazard. He felt the roots had damaged out our water ducts thus flooding the manhole. The tree needs to be removed and the damage repaired urgently before the water duct can be repaired and then BT can deal with faults which have resulted. This has all been reported previously .

Good morning. An inspector has been out to assess any tree root damage on the surface of the foot way and did not find any safety defects. As the damage seems to be to be from deeper roots, I will pass this on to our tree team for them to investigate, and hopefully get back to you with any information. Thank you.
