Pathway floods

Reported in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 21:14, Tue 12 November 2019

Sent to Halton Borough Council 1 minute later

The pathway that goes alongside Hospital Way towards the hospital bus stop is often covered in water running off from the steep bank to the side. It is running off this bank and down from the pathway ahead. This makes it difficult to walk through, especially with all the leaves that are about, and when it freezes it becomes a slip hazard. It is only a matter of time before someone slips and hurts themselves. Especially as lots of people use this path to walk to their hospital appointments. Please arrange for some sort of drainage to be installed to prevent water from running down and across this path, to avoid people having to attend hospital for reasons because of this slip hazard.

Updates

  • Nothing has been done with this issue. Please do something, at least make an effort to show you are going to do something with it. Was particularly bad this week due to the rain we’ve had. Water running down off the bank and right along the path.

  • Nothing has been done with this request. Even as recently as yesterday, water streamed down the path and will continue to do so until you install suitable drainage. Or when someone slips and injures themselves. There are plenty of elderly people who use this walkway and the effect a fall could have on them mustn’t be underestimated. Please act swiftly to prevent an accident.

  • Originally raised this issued on 12 Nov 2019, provided updates on 10th December 2019, 14th January 2020 and 11th February 2020. NOTHING has been done with it. Why not? It's obvious that something needs to be done.

  • 7 months later now, and still nothing done with this area. You'd think Spring/Summer would be the ideal time to carry out this work in readiness for the next Autumn/Winter. My guess is that nothing will have been done by this time next year. Council taxes will continue to rise though!
