Highstreet left in destroyed state after Giggaclear install fibre optic cable
Reported anonymously at 17:54, Monday 4 November 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and West Oxfordshire District Council 2 minutes later. Council ref: 1831689.
To whom it may concern,
We live at the Old Post Office, on the High Street in Lyneham and are appalled by the state Giggaclear have so far left the road and verges down the High Street.
Granted they haven’t totally finished, but why the box for the fibre optic cable couldn’t have been placed beside the village notice board, which is on a hard surface as suggested, I’ll never know?
The cable could then have continued down the footpath and simply be re tarmac instead of destroying the verges? The mess the workforce had made is a disgrace. I hope they will return to level and make good both our x2 drives entrances. But also to level and reseed the grass verges, which over the last decade my husband and I have taken a great deal of trouble to maintain and plant snowdrops under the hedge.
