We were travelling along Todmorden Road, towards Burnley, on the afternoon of Sunday 27th October 2019 when my nearside front wheels hit this pothole and violently bounced the car.
I was travelling at less than 30mph (I have dash cam footage to prove this) when I hit the pothole.
The pothole is approximately 1 metre long, 8 - 10cm deep and approximately 1 metre from the kerb.
I cannot tell at this point if there is any damage to my vehicle, I would have to take it to a garage to have the wheels, tyres, suspension and underside of the car examined.
I found a stick and a drinks can in a nearby skip which I placed in the pothole to give an indication of the size and scale. I returned these to the skip immediately afterwards.
Given the length and depth of the pothole I suspect that it has been there for some time.
One of the pictures shows the location of the pothole outside a property on Todmorden Road but there were no house numbers but the property is adjacent to the Fern Hill House Care Home 2/8 Todmorden Road, Bacup OL13 9BA so the property could 10/12?
The pothole is approximately 25 metres past the entrance to the care home on the left, traveling away from Bacup towards Burnley.
