Broken slab of road
Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 13:22, Mon 28 October 2019
Sent to East Sussex County Council 2 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1822295.
This section of the road is now dangerous. I have been reporting it for about 4 years. The road slab is split in half and rises and drops when vehicles go over it. The slab has gaps down the sides of it. I know it was patched a few years ago, but this began breaking up after only a few weeks. It is dangerous to cyclists, horses, pedestrians and mopeds. One moped driver recently almost fell off his vehicle. I reported it this year a few months ago and the problem has not been sorted out.-

Urgent - The adjacent slab to the one mentioned above has this afternoon developed serious breakages - the tarmac has broken apart in several chunks and is very bad.

The road is extremely dangerous, and orange barriers were erected around it with road signs and ballast bags. This was done in October 2019. Occasionally the barriers fall down and they are then re-erected. However, the piece of road adjacent to it is now breaking apart, which is probably through all traffic using that piece of road. Highways Dept. has been advised.

Highway engineering came 3 weeks ago and did a beautiful repair on the road, which took them all day. Diggers and all sorts of equipment were fully engaged. The orange road barriers were left in place for 2 weeks, but then were dismantled and left on the grass verge and are still there. This end of Pebsham Lane is now good on which to travel. Thank you.
