Blocked drains and recent flooding

Reported in the Other (non-highways) category anonymously at 16:50, Mon 21 October 2019

Sent to Hampshire County Council and Winchester City Council 5 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1813370.

Blocked drains in the road cause flooding at the entrance to the estate splashing pedestians. This is a route to a primary school with small children, parents with push chairs getting soaked.

Updates

  • The problem arises because of the many trees in the road and the annual road sweeping takes place before all the leaves are off the trees leaving a squashed mess at the kerb side which compacts over the drain. I saw a neighbour down the road out with a stick the other day trying to clear a drain.
