Drains blocked causing deep stagnant water.

Reported in the Drainage category anonymously at 09:25, Tuesday 15 October 2019 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 2 minutes later. Council ref: 1805459.

Due to heavy rains recently, drains have not been clearing/draining the water away thus causing a very large pool of water which is deep and dangerous. When the rain stops, this water takes the best part of a day to drain away. This has been like this for the last 6 months.

  • Thank you for reporting this issue. The gully issue/blockage will be included in our forthcoming gully cleansing programme. As there are limited budget we have to prioritise high flood risk areas. It is common through out Oxfordshire for our drainage units to take time to cope with the amount of water we sometimes have. It may take a few hours for the water to flow away fully. We will continue to monitor this on our routine inspections. Regards
