Drain outside of 'Foxglove' Main St. East Farndon still has a problem following drain clearing in the area. Residents have had inspection of their private property by Anglian Water, who report the report is one for NCC as something is causing a backflow of water from this particular drain outside of the garage to this property. Causing flooding to garden when it rains.

We are still concerned about this problem. On Monday evening during a heavy downpour our back patio was flooded and the manhole cover in our drive was pushed up by the force of the water so that a torrent was running down the through our front courtyard. We have lived here for 25 years and not experienced this before. There is definitely something stopping the water from draining away fast enough. With more rain forecast we are deeply concerned.

Area manger has spoken to householder who mentioned that his downstairs toilet was also flooding this is an indication that there is a problem with foul sewer rather than storm. Highways have recently cleared gullies in the vicinity and there were no reported problems. We have agreed to monitor the functioning of the highways gullies in the area during rain to see if there are any underlying issues with the storm system that they connect to however if this is a highways system there should be no connection from other properties.
