Refuse collections in Priestfield Road

Can you please ask the refuse collectors to put the bins back where they found them. Majority of the bins black, green, brown and grey are numbered and yet we continue to find the bins 2 or 3 houses away from where they belong. Bins are also returned to the alley entrances which provide vehicle access to residents garages - when bins are placed on these roadways we are not able to get our vehicles safely off the road before unlocking the gates. The bins are not found there and therefore should NOT be returned there. One other gripe is the garden recycle men who also empty the grey bins just throw the bins back on the pavement or into the gardens resulting in broken bins, lids and bins that no longer lock (giving foxes easy access to the rubbish). This action will in turn will cause unnecessary cost to the council in replacement (funds that you do not have). Please ask the workers to cease these unfriendly actions. Thank you

Can't honestly see how this would mean anyone has to park their car unsafely, but I would say that bin day is an absolute nightmare for anyone trying to use the pavements, particularly those with pushchairs and mobility problems. This, however is not a problem exclusively caused by the refuse collectors. Thoughtless placement of bins on pavements with cars parked mostly on the pavements by residents is not helpful either.

If you lived in the area you would understand the problems. Imagine having to turn into an alley way (service road) to get to your garage as there is nowhere to park on the street, where the locked gate is just level with the front fence line of gardens. Add to that the entrance is right at the top of a road where drivers cut the corner at speed and come on the wrong side of the road - your car is sticking out from the alley entrance, even further out into the road when bins are NOT put on the pavement. Every chance you will lose the back of your car!! Now perhaps you understand why residents want the bins put back where they found them ON THE PAVEMENT.
