Street Light not working
Reported via Android in the Street lighting category by Duncan Wright at 22:58, Sun 6 October 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 2 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1794914.
The pedestrian walkway light at the south east rear of my house (8 Arundel Close) is not working. This causes a large portion of the pedestrian pavement to be in the dark in an area which is surrounded by large trees and therefore makes the walkway unsafe.
Council ref: 1794914

Ref:00358791 Thank you for your report, OCC are now responding to out of lights within the contracted timescales of attending site within 7 days for repairs. If there is a cable fault this will be passed to the Electricity company to repair and will take longer, it will depend on the resources which the District Service Operator has. Thank you

Still waiting on a fix to this light. Reported over 2 weeks ago and still not working or any update provided about when this will be resolved. It is dark by 7pm and not safe to walk along this footpath without a street light.

Still not fixed. Pretty poor really. Too much effort on 'engagement' and trying to make me feel like something is being done. How difficult can fixing a street light be? Get rid of all the admin staff who run these apps and get more people on the ground who actually fix things.

Received an email today stating "We are happy to report that your issue has now been addressed". How can this be - the street light is still not working? How much longer will this take to fix? Fed up with no action.

Ongoing since October and still no progress. Are the council simply hoping to drag this out until summer when evenings are lighter so they don't need to fix it or is something going to be done?

This street light is number 4. It is located on a basketball court. Their is also street light number 3 located opposite it on the far side of the basketball court that is also out. Also down the foot path heading towards town, street light number 7 is out. It is where the footpath meets the next footpath.

The light I am reporting is number 7 - at the south east of Arundel Close. If 3 and 4 are out then they also need reporting but the ongoing fault (since 6 Oct 19) is with Street Light 7.
