Orange rubbish bags left in street by Serco

Reported in the Rubbish (refuse and recycling) category anonymously at 19:48, Sun 10 April 2011

Sent to Canterbury City Council 2 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 178972.

Residents are told that they can be fined for putting rubbish out on the wrong day, so why are Serco allowed to pile up orange rubbish sacks in Oxford Street, outside the infant school and only collect them every so often? - they are an eyesore and are often there at weekends. It doesn't look good for a town that is supposed to be a tourist attraction.

Updates

  • Although the bags are probably collected once a day, they are allowed to build up during the course of each day causing an eyesore. This is supposed to be a conservation area and is also visited by lot of people. If they need to stockpile the full sacks during the day they should be put somewhere unobtrusive or in a storage container out of public view.
