Sent to Warwick District Council and Warwickshire County Council 1 minute later

I would like to make a complaint and an observation about the A425:

1. Road works that are taking place on the A425 outside the Warwick Preparatory school (just before Heathcote Lane).

I regularly walk and cycle this route and over the last week it has become dangerous to do so. Pedestrians are forced to cross this busy road twice (and during the rush hour that is some feat), and cyclists forced to join the traffic. Today, roadworks were taking place on the ‘Pedestrian’ side of the road too, forcing pedestrians to almost go into the road for access. Should there not be a temporary pelican crossing put in place?

Throughout the summer it seems to me that the priority has been (highest priority first): The roadworks, Vehicles, Cyclists and then Pedestrians. My view from a H&S perspective is that the priority should be Pedestrians, Cyclists, Roadworks (because people are involved) and then Vehicles. As we enter the autumn daylight will fade and the problem will become worse.

Please can you review this?

2. Crossing the road at the roundabout where the A425 meets the Myton Road is also permanently dangerous. There are many more pedestrians now and this should be controlled by a pedestrian crossing.

Please can you review this?

Many thanks,

David Weavers
