Wyndham Place/Commercial Rd, Southampton

Sent to Southampton City Council 3 minutes later

There is an area of pavement laid around the mouth of Wyndham Place at its junction with Commercial Road, Southampton and leading up towards the Mayflower Theatre has been created using attractive pale grey slabs. However when these slabs are lethally slippery when wet as they are this morning. I walked very carefully west past the shops down towards Wyndham Place but despite my care I still slipped several times. I am a fit and healthy 74 yr old but do not relish the thought of slipping up on this stuff. Disabled or more elderly pedestrians may not manage o avoid slipping over. If it helps, from personal experience of the product, I think you may be able to reduce the slipperiness by treating the pavers with Wet and Forget which deals with naturally occurring stuff which cause such slick surfaces. No I don’t have any connection with the makers!
