Dangerous Road and Pavement Flooding
Reported in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 10:13, Tue 24 September 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 4 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1778690.
For many years this road has flooded and I previously reported it. In February 2011 when the replacement yellow gas pipes were installed the contractor smashed through the drains to install the new service. This allowed me to photograph the inside of the drains and show they are totally silted up. I reported this and the contractor was, apparently, forced to make good their damage and divert the yellow gas pipe. However, the drain has remained blocked. We regularly have a dangerous situation whereby the road and pavement floods, resulting in pedestrian slipping off the submerged footpath. Furthermore, all these years of flooding risk the fine particles being washed from the soil and a sink hole occurring where both gas and electrical services are situated. Please ensure the drains are cleaned to prevent further flooding.

Hours after the rain stopped on the morning of 14Nov19 the road is still flooded. The footpath is a hazard. Fines are being washed from the soil and it is only a matter until a sink hole or accident occurs.

Once again, a small amount of rain and the edge of the footpath is dangerously indiscernible from the road with a gulley hidden beneath.
