Inappropriate placement of new road signage
Reported in the Road Markings category anonymously at 11:50, Sat 7 September 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 5 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1759252.
This is a brand new shared use cycle/pedestrian path. The posts for road signs have been placed in the middle of the path. This is dangerous and will cause an accident. It beggars belief that the council planner approved this.

A few additional points: The special tiles seem to be on the wrong side, if the shared path sign is correct. The bus stop is too close to the cycle lane, if the shared path sign is correct. In any case, why have a cycle lane go through a bus waiting area? How will drivers see the road signs when a double decker bus is at the bus stop?

Thank you for your report. We have assessed it and found that it does not currently meet the criteria for intervention, so will not be fixing at this time.

What an awful update.
What exactly is your 'criteria for intervention' and why hasn't it been met? These sort of copy and paste posts do nothing to help and just increase the perception that the council couldn't care less, whether that be true or otherwise.
Surely the post in the middle of the path is dangerous.

This hasn't been fixed and the council's pathetic response can only lead one to conclude that for all the public pronouncements they really are not interested in active travel in Oxfordshire.
