Guttering plus weeds, brambles, nettles, buddleia overhanging public footpath.

This has been a problem for years, one year my neighbour and I cleaned the guttering ourselves and found an assortment of treasures but we are no longer able to do so....nor feel it is our duty. I have been clipping bits off the overhanging branches, brambles and nettles and permanently carry my secateurs... otherwise the path would have been unwalkable. One mum pushing a pushchair stopped to thank me, she would have had to have taken her children onto the road otherwise. It looks dreadful and is a hazzard. The whole area is a mess of weeds and needs severe pruning/lopping/tidying. So....Gutter and pathway please.

  • Hi The pathway has been tidied in a manner, I think it was done by the guys clearing the "Waitrose" carpark, it is better but not great.....The trees are still overhanging the path and the guttering is very over grown and the weeds there are tall, then when they die they fill/cover the drains..

  • I have just come infrom raking the leaves from the path, I bave been doing it once a week. Today being wet the path was very slippery and dangerous so I thought better in the gutter than some one break a leg,I have severe arthritis in both shoulders so it is painful for me to do and I can't get them up or bag them but the path is safer. When I asked the council one year to do it they said they would, when he leaves stop falling but the didn't ever do it. Hopefully now as the gutter is invisible they may come and clear THAT ?
