Sensors not working

Reported in the Traffic lights category anonymously at 21:41, Friday 23 August 2019

Sent to Tameside Borough Council 3 minutes later

The car sensors at the traffic lights under the railway bridge have not been working in either direction for several months now - previously if you drove up to the lights and there was no traffic coming the other way, they would change straightaway, but now they won't change until the predetermined period is up. This is particularly annoying when I'm coming home from work at 2am or if I'm going in at 5am, as I can be sat there for a couple of minute waiting for the lights to change when there's nothing within a mile coming the other way.

Updates

  • I got an email from Tameside council on 27/08 saying it was being passed to Greater Manchester Urban Traffic Control who manage and maintain the traffic signals, but nothing has yet been done, so I will follow up on the email.
