Severe slump in road surface
Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 18:47, Fri 23 August 2019
Sent to Harrow Borough Council 3 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1742669.
Observed @ 13:40, 23/08/2019 - severe slump in northwest bound carriageway, spanning the offside of both the north and south bound carriageways just before the "Brow" of the bridge. Has been in this state for some time and now seems to have worsened recently. Thinking of advising MOD so that the Fleet Air Arm can use it as an emergency land-based ski-jump for the F-35

As of 19/09/2019, Harrow Council are still competing with Baikanour Cosmodrome for the title space launch city, they've even put signage out on both sides "RAMP" ! Needs a new bridge and ramp of modern design and construction, rather than the 1930's rubble-filled embankment carp. Subsidence defects are regularly occuring with this bridge -its simply wasn't designed for this level of traffic or modern vehicle weights. Harrow Council need to have serious words with TFL about getting it replaced, that's if they can fit that in between the priority activity of selling residents discount floor-mops on their web-site.

As at 16/10/2019, the damaged road has received a temporary fix i.e. Filled in with new tarmac. But the repair is not perfect and there is still a slight dip in the road surface at this point necessitating vehicles to slow down if they are to avoid susoension rattles and possible damage. As said this bridge and its ramparts require a permanent fix as its not really caoable of handling modern traffic volumes and weight without regularly requiring repairs. In my opinion, the road authority should place vehicle weight and speed restrictions on the bridge until it can be modernised.
