Overgrown vegetation

Reported in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 12:57, Thu 15 August 2019

Sent to Hampshire County Council 2 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1733194.

The pathway between Peverals Avenue and Thornden school is a main thoroughfare for children getting to school. Whilst the pathway is wide enough for two people to walk together the overhanging vegetation from council land forces you into single file and very close to a major road and the oncoming traffic. This needs, in the short term to be cut back and in the medium term cleared and for the pathway to be wide enough for two to walk together without being at risk from the traffic.

  • This problem was highlighted to protect children going to school. The delay in getting the work done means that the children have now returned back to school and are being placed at risk by being in enforced close proximity to fast moving traffic
