I am writing to you as a very concerned resident of the B4493 Wantage Rd, Didcot. This road has always been busy but since the development of GWP, Brunel Rise etc, it has become the main access road from Didcot, Wallingford, Henley-on-Thames to name but a few. The main issue isn’t necessarily the volume of traffic but the ridiculous and dangerous speeds that many vehicles travel at, inc Motorcycles, cars, vans & HGV. One problem is there is not one speed limit signs heading West from Vauxhall Road to the traffic lights at GWP and only one sign heading East from GWP to Vauxhall road (outside Sainsbury’s) The road has slowly become a drag strip from Sherwood Rd to Holy Lane and vice versa. Making it very difficult for residents, cyclists and pupils from the local Girls school to saftey use. The Zebra crossing outside the Wheatsheaf Public House is ignored by a large number of drivers and I have almost been knocked down on several occasions, can this be upgraded to a Pelican Crossing? Also The speed camera is positioned where drivers are already slowing down for the roundabout. Is there any chance of any speed calming measures being put in place like on many other residential roads in Didcot? I look forward to receiving your response,
