Slumping road surface

Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 13:50, Thursday 18 July 2019

Sent to Hillingdon Borough Council less than a minute later

Observed PM, 16/07/2019, the north-east bound carriageway, on the section of Breakspear Road between the junctions with Ladygate Lane and Fine Bush Lane, has slumped, with multiple cracks and defamation of the road surface over a 20 foot length. This damage has extended recently, starting now near the centre of the carriageway and extending to the carriageway edge. The damage has been on going for some time and, IMHO, is sufficiently bad now to warrant a repair.

Updates

  • As observed 17:45, Tuesday, 8/10/2019. The slumped and cracked edge of the carriageway remains unrepaired. With the winter and darker nights coming-on, this represents a hazard to safe driving as well as a significant trip hazard to pedestrians. The expected increase in HS2 lorry traffic can only make this worse.
