Increased amount of traffic coming through the road exceeding the speed limit and driving recklessly, a cat was hit by a reckless driver and they didn’t stop leaving the cat dead in the middle of the road, which myself and another neighbor helped to pick him up and take him to his owner who lives on the same road.

This issue has been raised previously to no avail however since the last report there has been a significant increase in new build properties off broadway this have given rise to an increase of traffic through Springfield road to avoid the speed bumps on upland road and Freckleton road and Leslie road.these vehicles are speeding up and down Springfield road posing an increase risk to pedestrians and oncoming traffic, naturally this is difficult to assess with no statistical evidence and this is why I feel and many of the neighbors agree that traffic monitoring is required to determine if any traffic management controls are needed.

Updates

  • Traffic continuing to travel at a ridiculous speed up and down the road, the road needs some monitoring put in place to see the severity of the traffic and speed that is happening daily!!!.

  • Traffic still passing through at a speed that is over 30mph , no signs up to warn drivers that it’s a 30mph road even though it’s a residential area ,like other roads in the area that are not council estates the speed limits are set at 20mph , I’m sure this will never happen unless some poor innocent child is hit by a reckless driver!!!!
