Disintegrating pavements and kerbs causing major hazard to residents

Reported in the Pavements/footpaths category by Claire Rushbrook at 07:52, Sunday 30 June 2019

Sent to Essex County Council 3 minutes later

The continuing deterioration of the pavements and kerbs down Romans Way, Writtle is of major concern to the health and safety of the mostly elderly residents. My mother has recently suffered a nasty fall turning her foot on a pothole (outside no. 10 and reported separately) sustaining nasty injuries to her elbow and leg. It is less hazardous to walk down the middle of the road.

  • Councillor came round to review situation, agreed it was unacceptable but that it was unlikely to be rectified due to no money being available. We will await more injuries to residents in the future.
