Drainage Gullies Blocked

Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 16:23, Thu 27 June 2019

Sent to Hampshire County Council 2 minutes later

Both sides of road, altho Northbound is worse, have concrete drainage gullies cast along either side of carriageway. These are completely clogged with mud / weeds / rubbish, etc and have standing water. It's been like this for so long, even small trees have started to grow in them. When it rains, the water can no longer drain away, causing a danger of aquaplaning. It's worst at this location, but the entire length of the road needs attention as this is far from the only place it's like this. Sooner or later, it's going to cause an accident.

  • Hampshire County Council first stated that this road is maintained by Highways England (It's not) then stated it's maintained by Surrey County Council. Basically, no-one seems to want to take responsibility for this road, presumably why it's in such a poor condition!
