Mattress on the road

Reported in the Flyposting category anonymously at 07:10, Monday 24 June 2019

Sent to Newport Council 4 minutes later

Overnight there have been two mattresses dumped , one is on the road turning left from Nash road to meadows road it’s on the highway , the other is further up towards the recycling facility , this one is on the pavement . The other side of the road there have been several “ general rubbish “ drops , behind both areas that have the concrete barriers . The IBC large plastic unit is still where the travellers left it about 5 weeks ago , there also appears to be a cupboard or fridge/ freezer dumped in the same area . The IBC was previously reported but not dealt with .

Updates

  • The two single mattresses on the highway were moved , the mattress IBC and cupboard or fridge .. it’s in the hedge so I cannot see ... are still there . Additionally there is a large amount of litter being dropped , looks like bin bags that have opened .. this is mainly in the two areas where concrete blocks have been out to stop travellers setting up camp . What happens now is people come overnight and dump rubbish behind the concrete blocks .
