Giant Hogweed enroaching on footpath/cycle path

This path is part of National Cycle Route 1. After Ferguson Drive, Musselburgh EH21 6XA the path goes downhill and under the railway, then turns a sharp corner. On this corner next to the path there is a large amount of overhanging giant hogweed encroaching on the path. It has grown significantly over the last few weeks and is now developing flower heads. As giant hogweed is a toxic plant it poses a danger to path users who may brush against it on this corner. I have seen giant hogweed being sprayed further along this same cycle route on the stretch between Newcraighall and Queen Margaret College. Can the same be done at this Musselburgh location please? Thank you.
