Overhanging trees/weeds

Reported in the Parks and Greenspace category anonymously at 11:57, Sat 15 June 2019

Sent to Bromley Council 3 minutes later

Around the corner to the entrance to Parkfield Rec (near the Astley Centre) the path is almost impassible due to overhanging trees from end house and weeds in the pavement in the disused car park. All in all the place is overgrown and a huge mess.

  • This problem still has not been rectified and now due to the neighbouring houseowner dumping his garden waste in a nearby space everyone is now using it as a dumping ground. In recent days we have had a bamboo blind, a rug, two bikes, and now a pram dumped here too. (The pram has now been moved and dumped into other bushes!!)

  • See photos above. Rubbish has been dumped by the bin and as above. This problem has still not been rectified despite several reminders. The paths are now so overgrown they cannot be used as shown above. Is anyone maintaining this park anymore? There is evidence of an extraordinary amount of silver gas canisters near the park building (round the back).

  • They have cleared a tiny bit near the very large pines but the paths are still very overgrown, there is still a huge amount of garden waste dumped and now there is a barrel bbq that has been dumped too.

  • No and nothing seems to be getting done. The weeds have died back somewhat due to autumn but the park just doesn’t seem to be maintained at the Astley Centre end.

  • This matter has NOT been resolved. The garden waste from the neighbouring house (The Racecourse) is still dumped in the same place on the entrance to Parkfield Rec (near the Astley Centre) and the weeds are still covering the path and making it impassable in places (they have only improved because they have died back slightly due to the winter.

  • The paths have been cleared now thank you but the garden waste from the end house is still dumped in the entrance (near the Astley Centre). I know green waste dies back eventually but it does attract other people to dump rubbish in this area too.
