Collapsed Drain Cover

Reported in the Potholes category anonymously at 16:06, Wed 16 February 2011

Sent to Redbridge Borough Council 3 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 165753.

There is a collapsed drain cover outside numbers 14 and 16 Mayfair Avenue. It is large enough for a small child to fall into. I have already damaged the underside of my van as the drain cover was not on properly and flipped up as I drove over it, not knowing that it was loose and not on properly.

Updates

  • The council have just placed a concrete paving slab over the drain and a cone. The slab is now broken and the cones have blown over. I dont think they will be fixing this anytime soon, expect someone else will damage their vehicle before it is fixed. The whole drain needs to be replaced as the area around it has sunk and the kerb is also a trip hazard. Lets hope they do something about this soon.
