Cars driving on footpath, parking on grass and destroying grass

Reported in the Car parking category anonymously at 11:56, Tuesday 11 June 2019

Sent to Carlisle City Council and Cumbria County Council 3 minutes later

We have a problem on Linden Terrace with cars driving/reversing along footpath and parking/driving on grass. There are spaces on the road for the cars, so no reason to park on and damage grass. The grass is being worn down to mud, it will be impossible for the council to cut the grass around the car, one parks there nearly all day everyday, so the grass underneath it will die. As for the driving down the footpath to park on the grass, parents of young children should not have to teach the children to look out for cars on the footpath, this could possibly end in an accident, it would be be a shame for an accident to happen before any action is taken. The visitors to the house are also using the public grass as a car park/right of way. It's nice living in a street with grass, that the council look after and the kids can play on, but it's not right that it should be turned into a car park.
