Transponders not responding to cyclists

Your response to previous report is not satisfactory:
"Detection at this bus gate has been provided for long vehicles only. Cycle facilities have been provided as part of the access to headington scheme".
These lights are at the end of a bus, taxi & CYCLE lane. It is not bus only (and the transponders do also detect taxis). This means cyclist (the most vulnerable road vehicles) using the designated cycle lane are forced out into traffic in the all vehicle lane by the island projecting into the road because the lights don't respond to them.
What cycle facilities have been provided? The cycle lane that used to run right through Headington has been systematically cut back over the years! There is a cycle lane on the pavement that then crosses the end of Osler Road and ends in a bus stop! But this brings cyclists into conflict with pedestrians on the pavement, other vehicle movements at the junction and then buses (or parked delivery vehicles etc) in the bus stop forcing cyclist out to merge into the all vehicle lane!
The re-design of this junction has made this section of road more dangerous to cyclist and clearly wasn't designed by anyone with any experience of cycling!

From testing with an officer’s bicycle we can confirm that the signals are triggered by cyclists using the bus lane. The loops in the road used for the detection are triggered by electro-magnetism so will not work on for bicycles that are non-ferrous (aluminium – carbon fibre). Facilities adjacent to the lane are available for cyclists to bypass the signals altogether so no further changes are proposed at this time.
