There is an enormous infestation of Poison Hemlock along Thorney Lane North and Thorney Lane South, between Barnes Way and Bathurst Walk. The attached map shows the hotspots in red.
This weed is highly poisonous and can kill within hours if ingested by a child for instance. Even inhalation can cause toxic reactions and I have experienced throat irritation as I have been walking past hundreds of these weeds on my daily commute.
As the plant is flowering it will need to be dug up and burnt before it lays seed! Do not just cut down or use chemicals to kill the plant; it will remain highly poisonous and the scent will attract animals to eat it and die, plus it would just result in a load more of these plants growing.
As well as on Thorney Lane North and South, there is a huge concentration about 30m down the road that leads into Thorney Business Park. Also on the corner of Bathurst Walk and on the corner of the footpath from the station where it meets the Thorney Lane bridge over the railway. There is some growing in the corner of a field opposite Bathurst Walk (across the other side of Thorney Lane South) containing horses that could be killed by eating it.
