Illegally parked vehicles idling at the end of Farnaby Road
Reported in the Road and Pavement Issues category anonymously at 13:14, Fri 17 May 2019
Sent to Bromley Council 2 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1632648.
Illegally parked vehicles can be seen along the end of Farnaby Road closest to Valley Primary, daily at school drop off and pick up times. Often blocking residents driveways, and regularly idling causing even more pollution outside a school which already suffers from illegal levels of air pollution. Residents politely asking drivers to turn off engines while parked are listened to happily by some and sadly verbally abused by others. The school head regularly patrols the area to try to minimise this but he has a job to do and cannot police the area at all times. Parking attendants need to deal with this issue and the council needs to do more about these issues around schools. Not only is the pollution harmful for children the unsafe parking makes the crossing of the road more hazardous and blocks residents in or out of their driveways. This is an ongoing issue which has never been adequately addressed by the council. The school has tried to communicate the need for consideration of residents to parents but sadly this has had no impact.
