Wrongly named sign at Millwall Slipway

Reported in the Parks/landscapes category anonymously at 14:08, Thu 16 May 2019

Sent to Tower Hamlets Borough Council 2 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1631705.

On the Isle of Dogs, Westferry Road, there is a relatively new sign (see photo) at Millwall Slipway that incorrectly names the area of the slipway as Millwall Outer Dock. Millwall Outer Dock is the dock on the other side of Westferry Road but the slipway is distinct from the dock. The slipway had a name sign for Millwall Slipway (provided by the Canal & River Trust) until the wrongly named sign replaced it. There doesn’t appear to be any justification for renaming the area, whether deliberately or unintentionally, and if the name sign is not replaced then there is a danger that the locally recognised place name will be lost. Therefore, this is a request to please install a replacement sign with the correct name of Millwall Slipway.
