Over height tree blocking light/sunlight to backyard

The tree outside the front of my property at 27 Charles street is about 20 feet taller than my house. This in turn blocks sunlight from my backyard between the hours 1pm and 7pm time of year dependant. I feel that this tree should be reduced in size. There are already large branches falling from this tree at certain times and I think something should be done sooner rather than later.
