Large tree has not been pruned, causing tree opposite to look for light over my front garden depositing sticky substance daily

I live at 81 Cedars Rd and the tree on the pavement just outside my house is being forced further over my front garden because the large tree across the road is overgrown and as long as I have been here has never been pruned.. It stretches across the road blocking light for the smaller tree outside my house which is now lop sided and and being forced across my drive and garden to get light.
