On Wednesday, 10th April 2019 at approximately 17:20pm whist walking with my husband in West Wickham I tripped and fell on a loose paving stone just beyond the Sense Charity shop at 61 High Street, West Wickham, on route towards the junction with Sherwood Way. I was winded, momentarily knocked out and unable to move for a considerable amount of time. I fell flat on my face hitting my forehead, nose, lip, chin, chest, wrist, shoulders and knees. A nurse who was driving by and saw my fall, stopped to provide assistance. She advised that I should remain seated on the ground until I regained my awareness. She asked a series of questions including whether an ambulance was required. I was then helped to a public bench at the junction of Sherwood Way by my husband and members of the public. A staff member from Caffe Nero provided me with a glass of water and the nurse advised that, due to the force of the fall, I should seek medical attention from my GP. My husband drove me immediately to my local GP surgery who further advised that I should attend the hospital where I was assessed by the triage nurse and referred to the doctor. They assessed the injuries sustained to my forehead, nose, swollen lips, chin, shoulders, sprained left wrist, middle finger, chest and left knee. I was prescribed painkillers and given an appointment to attend an x-ray the following morning. The x-ray concluded that there were no broken bones or fractures. I was further advised to rest and continue to take painkillers. I was in considerable pain and discomfort which has only now eased after 10 days following my fall. I would appreciate hearing from you at the earliest opportunity.
