General Rubbish and Litter on the bushes.

Reported via Android in the Street Cleansing category anonymously at 08:40, Friday 19 April 2019

Sent to Bromley Council 5 minutes later

General Rubbish and Litter in the bush areas. This area was cleaned a few months ago and the Council were going to regularly monitor and clean. Clearly this is not happening.

  • I agree! The Elmers End Area of Beckenham is badly in need of a spring clean. Rubbish is being dumped, pavements fouled and litter abounds! We seem to be treated poorly by the Council who advise that they will continue to monitor and take necessary action, where they are responsible, but fail to so do.

  • Appropriate action has been taken to resolve the issue.

  • No action taken to clear the rubbish and litter as of today.

  • If 'no action' has been taken, how can this possibly be amended to 'fixed'. Bottles and cans continue to be discarded in this area which is not being cleaned regularly.

  • The shrub borders shown in the photos are under the private management of Tesco and are not part of the scheduled works to be undertaken by the Council's own Street Cleansing contractor.

Tesco Management are aware of their requirement to maintain their land to an acceptable standard and were taking steps to improve the frequency of their cleansing regime.

  • Tesco's frequency of inspection and cleaning is not that frequent. There are empty beer cans, both glass and plastic bottles, plastic bags in the area together with discarded paper and now two discarded scooters. A cursory glance by their management team would alert them to the fact that this area is not being cleared regularly and that the matter is far from closed!

  • Bottles, cans, paper, plastic, scooters and now a tire continue to be dumped in this area. Although initially cleared, this effort has not been maintained and the area continues to be an eyesore and not at all the image that one would imagine that Tesco's would wish to convey to their prospective customers.
