Pot holes on side of road
Reported in the Potholes category anonymously at 09:08, Fri 12 April 2019
Sent to Solihull Borough Council 2 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1601367.
These potholes have been here for at least 12 months and are now beyond dangerous they are a threat, in my opinion to pedestrians and drivers. There are a number of large, deep potholes on the edge of the road. The road is also a double bend. The holes are extremely dangerous both to the motorist and the pedestrian. In a car the problem is that you need to move off the road to get past an oncoming vehicle or walkers. The road is not wide enough to allow both vehicles to pass without moving off road and the potholes are there you cannot avoid them. As a pedestrian these pot holes are even more dangerous, especially when it has rained as they fill up with water and you don't know that there is a hole beneath them. It being a double bend is not an ideal spot for these type of road problems. In fact, it compounds the issue as oncoming traffic is blind to there being people/other cars there.

This is still a dangerous spot. It has not been fixed - one month on and nothing has been done how long before a serious accident?

Ditto my previous eight months of reporting this problem. No so much as a call from the council. Are the waiting for the accident to happen?

Another month has gone by. An attempt has been made to infill one of the potholes. This was done during the coldest day this year! The attempt filled one part of one pothole but left the remainder of the hole open and with all the rain we've had in recent weeks this has now compounded the problem. In fact the whole of the double blind bend is now under water on both sides. Comments please. I have contacted Bob Sleigh on this issue and he has asked me to keep him informed. I'd like your comments before I do this. Thank you.

There has been an attempt to tarmac over the problem area. The attempt was done on wet ground so problem still exists and is compounded by broken up bits of tarmac now on road surface. Any 10 year old will tell them that oil and water don’t mix so why did Solihull Council attempt this exercise? The time, money and utter stupidity of this incompetence makes my blood boil.

1 year and three months. Are Solihull Council ignoring the original problem? I suggest they look at the first post and get their equipment and men on sight as soon as possible.
