Two months of "works" obstructing pavement

Reported in the Pavements/footpaths category by Ken Smith at 15:38, Sat 29 January 2011

Sent to Merton Borough Council 2 minutes later

Since the very beginning of December (two months) we have had plastic barriers to "protect" pedestrians from the works. All I can see is raised covers and debris that has accumulated over this extended period. There has been no work done for a great many weeks.

I appreciate that we had snow and there would also have been delays due to the festive period. Nevertheless, two months is excessive and I don't think it unreasonable to request that the work be completed ASAP.

This section of pavement is very heavily used, particularly since there is a bus stop next to it. It endangers pedestrians - particularly those who might be rushing to catch a bus - and constrains available space on the pavement, particularly at the morning rush hour or when school breaks up each day.
