Drain at Bolts Cross blocked again - flooding to full width of both carriageways
Reported in the Drainage category anonymously at 10:43, Sunday 7 April 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later. Council ref: 1596323.
The drain at Bolts Cross on the B481, just south of the junction with road to Greys Green is blocked again. (Was cleared about a year ago after approx 3yrs of being blocked).
On Thursday evening (4th of April 2019) the road was once again flooded to full width, across both carriageways, and to a depth rising above the cerb and up onto the grass verge.
This, as before, will rip wheel trims and engine under-trays from vehicles and of course increase risk of accident, due loss of control / loss of visibility from water overcoming windscreens, and drivers migrating to western carriageway to avoid deepest side of flood. Please attend ASAP.
BTW thank you for reinstating the drainage systems at the bottom of the valleys between Greys Court & Greys Green and between Rotherfield Peppard & Sonning Common.
Thank you for your enquiry. This issue has been passed onto the relevant team for investigation.
