Illegal parking

Reported in the Car parking category anonymously at 09:50, Fri 22 March 2019

Sent to Leeds City Council 5 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1580443.

I am writing to complain about the inconsiderate and dangerous parking on Greenside and Chapletown in Pudsey:

Chapletown by the junction at the Pudsey Cenotaph

Drivers are frequently parking on the corners of these junctions, in the bus stops and narrow areas of the road with double yellow markings. This makes it difficult for traffic to pass through and everything has to stop when a bus must squeeze past inconsiderate drivers that are parked in bus stops and junctions.

Many of the Dominos delivery drivers are parking in dangerous places and blocking the roads.

Greenside at the corner of Chapletown and by Armitage Square

Motorists are also parking with the ends of their cars blocking side streets and Greenside car park, causing other drivers to pull out into traffic before they can see if anything is approaching.

The situation is becoming more dangerous due to people’s selfish and poor driving standards. This is particularly bad during the afternoons with visitors to The Lawrence Clinic and Greenside Fisheries stopping in the road.

I would be grateful if you could look into this matter and consider traffic wardens or other measures at peak times of day to make these areas safer for pedestrians and drivers.

Best regards,
