New Filled Trench Already Collapsing

Reported in the Potholes category anonymously at 07:48, Thursday 21 March 2019

Sent to West Sussex County Council 2 minutes later

Sunken trench at side of road just past War Memorial heading north east on A29 Westergate.

I reported a sunken trench here caused by a nearby housing development earlier this month and it was quickly filled in. Unfortunately that repair is already sinking and looks like it will soon start to break up and pose a danger to cyclists. The position of the trench and fact that it is on a very busy A road exposes it to heavy traffic - I would estimate it is hit several thousand times in a day. It would appear therefore that the repair was not done to a standard fit for this amount of traffic. I am not a civil engineer but I would think the trench needs fully digging out, reinforcing with concrete before finishing with asphalt. Can the repair be done properly this time please?
